God Rest Ye Merry Quarter
I have always loved Christmas time more than any other time of the year. Despite the rushing crowds, the cold weather, and the over-whelming since that a new iPod is too many people’s reason for the season, I think everyone is just a little be nicer this time of year. Plus the guiltless calories (it’s the holidays!), the corny carols, pictures with Santa and lights at the Zoo, and Love Actually, it really is the most wonderful time of the year. And it’s the only thing that is getting me through this hellish week of finals, that and the satisfaction that I can finally put Accounting 211 to rest for good.
To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intellingent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one’s self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - this is to have succeeded.
Stop What You’re Doing And Watch The Very Pit Of Hell Out Of This of the Day: Sen. Diane Savino (D-Staten Island) speaks out in favor of same-sex marriage ahead of today’s failed vote in the New York Senate.
If, after viewing this seven-minute video, you are still of the opinion that tax-paying Americans should be denied the right to enter into a loving marriage with the partner of their choice irrespective of gender, kindly exit this country.

You are defined by the way in which you treat the people you love. And, the people you hate.

I believe this whole-heartedly.
Simple Things By Paolo Nutini
In the past two days I’ve felt tired and a little sick, rode two hours to get back home, made pies with my grandmother hovering over my shoulder making sure I didn’t forget the sugar, picked up spare pepperonis my friends left on my kitchen floor, listened to my father sing Katy Perry, read Dracula and worked on my oral presentation and paper, and have done a life time’s worth of dishes.
I’m so fortunate that I am (on the whole) healthy, live not too far away from my family that I can still see them on the Holidays, have a Grandma who is still vibrant and spunky enough to teach me how to bake, have friends who are more like family and a family who are like my best friends, have the opportunity of higher education and its amazing resources, and that I got to spend Thanksgiving surrounded by a room full of loved ones.
When it all gets too much, it helps to remember that the simple things in life are far and away the most important.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.
“No, I don’t think I will kiss you, although you need kissing, badly. That’s what’s wrong with you. You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how.”- Gone With The Wind
